OPPORTUNITY
Fair Housing Statement
Effective: February 18, 2026
1. Our Commitment
RESYD is pledged to the letter and spirit of the United States policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
As a technology platform that matches consumers with real estate professionals, we mandate that all Professional Partners on our platform adhere strictly to the Fair Housing Act and all applicable state and local fair housing laws.
2. The Fair Housing Act
Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act), as amended, prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings, and in other housing-related transactions, based on the following protected classes:
In 2026, RESYD continues to advocate for inclusive housing, recognizing that many states and municipalities provide additional protections for factors such as source of income, age, marital status, and military status. We expect our matched experts to be leaders in local compliance.
3. Prohibited Practices
In accordance with federal guidelines, the following actions are strictly prohibited on the RESYD platform and by our Professional Partners:
- Refusing to rent or sell housing based on a person's membership in a protected class.
- Indicating a preference or limitation in any advertisement or communication (e.g., "Perfect for young couples" or "Traditional neighborhood").
- "Steering" individuals toward or away from certain neighborhoods based on their protected characteristics.
- Falsely stating that a property is unavailable for inspection, sale, or rent.
- Providing different terms, conditions, or privileges for a sale or rental.
4. Professional Partner Requirements
Every real estate professional matched through RESYD must verify that they:
- Provide equal professional service to all individuals.
- Stay informed about changes to fair housing laws and practices.
- Refuse to participate in any transaction where a client (seller or landlord) intends to discriminate.
- Advise their clients of their own responsibilities under Fair Housing laws.
5. Reporting Discrimination
If you believe you have been a victim of housing discrimination, or if a professional matched via RESYD has acted in a discriminatory manner, we urge you to report it immediately. You can contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or file a complaint online.
